Name: Kazegami
Game/Series: Okami
Canon Point: Post-game, but before Okamiden. He has a son by this point.
Age: Several hundred years-- actual age unknown, but looks around 27 (supposedly)

Personality:
Kazegami is unabashedly flamboyant. Much like the zodiac animal that he represents, he is very social and loves to the be center of attention. A fan of high fashion, he chooses to wear women's clothing and makeup more often than mens' as a personal preference. He doesn't seem to have a sense of personal space, and his mannerisms are distinctly feminine, peppering his speech with words like 'dear,' and 'hon.' He has a habit of giving nicknames to people, some more flattering than others, though the less flattering names are reserved for those who leave a poor first impression. He has a tendency to flirt with just about everyone in a playful manner, but this should never be taken seriously, as despite his mannerisms, he isn’t really sexually interested in men or women. The main reason he crossdresses is for the simple fact that he he likes being beautiful. He doesn't really identify as male or female and if mistaken for a woman, he'll probably take it as a compliment, and won’t correct the person who made the mistake.

He is best friends with Kasugami; one of his sisters, and the two are practically inseparable. The two of them have many shared habits and vices, including a mutual love for alcohol. On his own, Kazegami is not much of an alcoholic, but when he and Kasu are together, he becomes almost as much of a lush as she. Unfortunately, he can't hold his liquor quite as well as she can, and a terrible hangover the next morning is usually the result of one of such get-togethers. Hung-over Kaze is a terrifying force of nature. Quite literally.

Kazegami is not always the exhaustingly eccentric individual most meet first. He is capable of being serious, and is even more capable of being angry. This is most readily apparent when he is hung-over, wherein he drops the flamboyant act entirely, and is not beyond cussing out (or outright attacking, if they aren't family) those who draw his ire. Threatening his family will yield disastrous results if the offender has no way to fend him off or calm him down. He is extremely protective of his siblings and Amaterasu, and "God of Galestorm" is no mere title.

He also seems to suffer from low blood pressure, and is slow to wake up in the mornings. Beware of crankiness before 10:00 AM.

He's quite competitive, and will never turn down a footrace in either human or horse form. He's quite proud of his speed, and hubris is his biggest weakness. If a bet is made beforehand, and he loses, he's obligated to fulfill his end of the bet, regardless of what it is. A good amount of his great speed is dependent upon his manipulation of the wind to boost himself, but he doesn't consider this cheating, and won't admit to it as cheating, no matter what his opponent might think. He is proud and quite vain, and one of the fastest ways to make enemies with him is to insult his sense of taste. Conversely, flattery is one of the easiest ways to get on his good side.

He is considerably more subdued and formal in his horse form, as this is his "God" form, and being in said form usually means that it's time to act important and diplomatic, and is to him as formal wear is to humans. While in his horse form, he can speak to animals and those of high spirituality, but normal mortals will hear nothing more than the standard sounds one would expect from a horse. As such, he much prefers his humanoid form, as it allows him to be more expressive as well as communicate with humans.

He has a son that he dotes on whenever he can get away with it.

Backstory:

http://okami.wikia.com/wiki/Kazegami
Long ago, in a land called glorious Nippon, the sun goddess, Amaterasu, fought the dreaded demon Orochi. With the help of a hero named Nagi, she successfully sealed away the demon in the Moon Cave. However, the strain was too much, and she passed away shortly thereafter. One hundred years later, the seal was broken, and darkness covered the land once more. Using all her strength, Sakuya, the spirit of the guardian tree Konohana, managed to protect the small village of Kamiki and revive Amaterasu from a statue to fight once more. However, in the century she'd slumbered, humanity had lost faith in the gods, and as a result, her powers had weakened considerably, and the powers that she had possessed in her previous life had scattered to the winds. As she journeyed to defeat Orochi once again, her powers gradually returned with each of the Brush Gods she found, each one represented by an animal of the Chinese zodiac, and granting her an aspect of herself she’d lost.
Kazegami, the God of Wind, and the horse in the zodiac, was found in the Gale Shrine. Upon restoring the Divine Wind to Kusa Village, he appeared before Amaterasu to grant her the power of wind. After that, he returned to the Celestial Plane; the home of the gods.

Of course, like most folk tales go, the hero defeated the evil plaguing the land and returned to Heaven, and that was the last we’ve seen of the great Mother. Well, until Okamiden, anyway.

Before that catastrophe, the gods interacted with mortals fairly regularly. Enough so that they were actively worshiped, and thus still possessed great power. Kazegami himself was one of the most important of the gods. Along with his siblings Gekigami (thunder) and Nuregami (water), he controlled weather and storms, and with Itegami (god of ice), he heralded the change in seasons. In fact, an alternate reading of his name is Fuujin.

On one of the Wind God's early visits to Nippon, he discovered a love for theater and fashion (particularly ladies' fashion), and sought to make himself just as beautiful in both appearance and behavior, creating the flamboyant persona he most commonly assumes.

Anything Else?:
The Celestial Brush Gods get their title from the method by which they manifest their power. Using the Celestial Brush (which is invisible to all but the user under normal circumstances), they literally draw their powers into existence. The shape of the stroke determines the ability used.
Galestorm: Kazegami’s basic ability. With a helical loop or a spiral, he can summon a gust of wind in the direction the line was drawn in.
Whirlwind: With three straight lines, Kazegami can summon isolated, tornado-force winds to rip his enemies to shreds.
He can also change between his human and equine forms at will, and has the same powers in both forms. The Celestial Brush gods each possess a Divine Instrument, as well. Kazegami's is a Gunbai War Fan. In his horse form, it's attached to his saddle. In human form, he wears it as a hair pin.
The red marks on his body are only visible to those with a sufficient level of spirituality, or to other supernatural beings.
A good amount of his personality is actually based on doujin work by Tamiya Komo, whose site can be found here.
